Obedible over oppressive obstrictions...

A quote for you to guess the orator; the home truth about where we are going (as admitted below)
"The great strength of the totalitarian state is that it forces those who fear it to imitate it."
Guess who? And boy are we imitating at a rate nobody expected.

What a year..."Today on Lockdown Sceptics we mark a year to the day since the world changed forever."
"On February 21st, 2020 the Government of Italy did something no Western Government had ever done before. Something that the World Health Organisation had expressly recommended against only four months earlier."

The rest as they say, is history. Professor Neil Ferguson gave an extraordinary interview in which he and SAGE (you know...those multi failure 'experts') highlighted the "innovative intervention" [Unherd, great comments on there] of an overbearing totalitarian state, we are heading the same way.
"[China] is a communist one party state, we said. We couldn’t get away with it in Europe, we thought… and then Italy did it. And we realised we could."

Back to LS: "Our best hope is that in time the lesson will be learned that we must never do this again, and next time must be different – we must not panic but must stick to the pre-prepared plan." *

Never, ever. But you know it'll be what? One year, two? Five at the most: they will not give this sort of power back. Not unless they are forced to.

The past is never dead. It's not even past: ."the appeal of totalitarian ideologies is their ability to present a clear idea that promises protection from insecurity and danger... ...These ideas are fictional and the success of totalitarianism hinges on the regime’s ability to effectively obscure the distinctions between reality and fiction. One way this is accomplished is through propaganda.", reviewing Hannah Arendt: put in a modern context the parallels are scary as hell:
"totalitarianism has discovered a means of dominating and terrorizing human beings from within"
You have to 'not see' the Nazi and Soviet uniforms etc, just see the COVID cultism. Even before the global pandemic (which ended in May) younger generations were losing the ability to communicate face to face, now with unnecessary and sinister mask-wearing, social distancing etc., personal relationships are fewer and far between. Fodder to be manipulated. The concentration camp guards of the future. The isolation may have started with the social media explosion but is being finished by weak politicians - manipulated (or perhaps eager) to follow a course at speed despite seeing the approaching crash - power-crazed socialist ‘experts’** and an eager, complicit, lying media.

* The UK's pandemic plan from 2011...assumed 315,000 deaths (x3 Covid), but advised against masks, closing schools, businesses, and mass quarantine. [Tweet] [UK Gov PDF]

** experts with benefits.

A couple more quotes to finish with. How it begins:
"If you say no to your boss, or your spouse, or your mother, when it needs to be said, then you transform yourself into someone who can say no when it needs to be said. If you say yes when no needs to be said, however, you transform yourself into someone who can only say yes, even when it is clearly time to say no. If you ever wonder how perfectly ordinary, decent people could find themselves doing the terrible things the gulag camp guards did, you now have your answer. By the time no seriously needed to be said, there was no one left capable of saying it."
Jordan Peterson

And the classic, so true:
"The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it."
― George Orwell

Oncoming ochlocracy; offing opposition...

HAS: Do you have any people in your studio at the present time that you believe are Communist or Fascist, employed there?

WD: No; at the present time I feel that everybody in my studio is one-hundred-percent American.
Interesting thought that Americans couldn't possibly be Communist or Fascist. Part of Walt Disney Testimony Before House Committee Transcript [transcript] H. A. Smith asking Walt Disney.

The image (left is from the 1943 Disney propaganda film Education for Death: The Making of the Nazi [Wiki]. We're all going full steam ahead and Godwin's Law was fulfilled ages ago.

Bear with me, this is an introduction: well was Walt Disney a fascist or not? The Straight Dope from the noughties has a good non-partisan answer. That article also has some interesting links too, for those that enjoy the 'surf'; the transcript above and connection to ultra famous Nazi propagandist Leni Riefenstahl - she of the amazing "technically dazzling" and "visually ravishing" 'Olympia' fame - being two.

Anyhooo, you may not know where I am going with this but here's another nudge: "If Disney Doesn't Like Nazi Comparisons, Maybe They Should Stop Acting Like Them" writes Scott Hounsell at Red State, and guess what, he is not wrong: this is how it starts. The frog has been in the heating-up saucepan for a while now and - as the fable goes - still isn't noticing how hot it is getting. The news is of course that of ex MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano, who was fired by Disney ['galactic hypocrisy'] because she compared the current drift towards hounding and cancelling of Trump supporter (maybe even the whole rabid, fleck-mouthed, totally wrong 'show trial' of impeachment) to the Nazi persecution of Jews. She retweeted a message that had a harrowing real photograph that showed exactly what the text said:
"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views."

That is the worry, that is absolutely true, only last month the posts on The Reichstag Fire and oligarchy highlighted the path we ARE on; along with the ludicrous media circus regarding 'attempted coup', 'armed insurrection', 'attempted violent overthrow', 'one of the darkest day in recent American history', 'domestic terrorists', 'armed rioters' and other similar terms: coordinated, orchestrated, intentional...you can see what's happening? They are writing fake news for the future's history lessons. Is the Capitol building burning? is there a fire in the copula (left)?

Continuing the Nazi theme, some morons (yeah Arnie, joining Hollywood's bat-shit crazy brigade)  even compared the Capitol riot to Kristallnacht (and here we could circle right back to Leni Riefenstahl); I kid you not. The Nazi pogrom
"In two days and nights, more than 1,000 synagogues were burned or otherwise damaged. Rioters ransacked and looted about 7,500 Jewish businesses, killed at least 91 Jews, and vandalized Jewish hospitals, homes, schools, and cemeteries. The attackers were often neighbours." [Britannica]

Of course there are other and higher death estimates. Compare that real terror and fear felt by hundreds of thousands to [fake LOL AOC] fear and a few turned over chairs. How many of the hundreds of statues and large gilt framed artworks - very apparent in all the internal video evidence - were destroyed Arnie? How many windows broken Arnie, eight, as many as ten? How many buildings burned down? How many car fires? The "ransacked" offices still had all the computer screens on the desks, and chairs behind the desks..there were some documents strewn on the floor though...FFS.

Opus on objectivity...

"Of the impossibility of truth, the limits of knowledge and the end of science in the #corona-crisis."

Marvelloues Twitter thread by Pace (@theotherphilipp). It is 38 Teweets long but a few snippets:

Science does not serve the search for truth, but for knowledge that might approach the truth. Thereby their theses are at least

- honest,

- verifiable,
- and repeatable.

If only one of these principles is violated, it becomes a valueless end in itself.

Naturally the honesty of the politicians, scientists and media has been shown up starkly over the last 10 months. To be honest we knew before and have known for decades but over the last 5 years in has been more overt, whether it be Brexit, Trump, Climate Change etc., it has become almost the norm to lie to get your way and belittle those that disagree. These days belittling means trying to 'cancel', sinister enough in itself but when coming from on high is really know something soon has to break.

Verifiability

The claim of a worldwide pandemic should be subject to the strictest possible degree of verifiability.
All the more so if one considers the inconceivably serious consequences that this will have for the people.

The opposite, however, has happened. An important indicator of the severity of an epidemic is the lethality of the disease. To assess this, the CFR/IFR is determined. Absolutely essential for this is a clear record of those who have died from a disease.
If verifiability already fails, repeatability is impossible. How can the CFR/IFR of a cohort be reliably verified in a repetitive manner if its determination is already unclear?

And how do they test anyway? Unknown. To date, there are no validatable standards for testing laboratories. Do they test for one, two or three loci, which ct-values do apply and for which genes? All more or less unclear. Every laboratory, every country does it differently.

Remember the centuries-old consensus of scientific work when pathetic journalists, power-hungry politicians and scientists driven by self-interest tell you something about the truth!

But the death of truthfulness, the fading away of the rational mind at record speed, and the end of scientific credibility, only we ourselves can prevent. By demanding it.

Obnouncing oligarchic oppression II...

Hmmm, I am not sure this Time Magazine article reads like they think it reads, certainly not to me ...or maybe it does and they don't care.
"The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all..."
I think you'll agree that a Trump victory was VERY MUCH what they were desperate to stop. This article is them bragging about it!

More critique: "In a rather remarkable article today there is an interesting outline of several leftist groups who aligned to influence the 2020 election." [TLR-TCT]

With this sort of bragging no doubt more will soon follow.

Also, out of interest - and I am not sure it will lead to much now - but The Donald "is winning election lawsuits, in case you haven’t heard" [Steven Mosher's blog on LifeSiteNews]: there were forty six lawsuits to deal with (after many were "withdrawn, consolidated with other suits, or dismissed due to legal technicalities such as lack of standing, timing, or jurisdiction") of which twenty five are still ongoing. Of the twenty-one that have been 'completely adjudicated' "Trump has won 14 and lost 7".

They may be little or irrelevant wins, I really don't know but I know you won't read about it in the main stream media.

Update late p.m.: Another good read that I'm only seeing now, from over two weeks back: Clarity in Trump’s Wake. "The United States of America is now a classic oligarchy. The clarity that it has brought to our situation by recognizing this fact is its only virtue." [LINK]. Well worth a read: many parts stand out, especially...
Russians and East Germans under Communists Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker in the 1970s lived under less ruling class pressure than do today’s Americans. And their rulers were smart enough not to insult them, their country, or their race.
And "Private entities wielding public powers in coordination with each other without having to observe any of government’s constitutional constraints is as good a definition of oligarchy as there is."
