Orinoco oil output III...

By way of celebration of the easing of sanctions on Venezuela last week (albeit temporarily for the present) here's an interesting blog from Latinometrics Substack today: Venezuela's Oil Potential and its History [LINK]. Some facts from the article: "Venezuela owns 18% of all of the world's oil"..."By 1950, Venezuela was the world’s 4th-wealthiest nation per capita." Unbelievable, right?

...and the image below shows how they are keeping most of their oil in the ground, not what they'd like to do!

And here's where I repeat a post from 5 years ago:

Hazard a guess at these two countries:

The first country "is one of the region’s oldest and strongest democracies.
"It boasts a stronger social safety net than any of its neighbours and is making progress on its promise to deliver free health care and higher education to all its citizens. It is a model of social mobility and a magnet for immigrants from across Latin America and Europe.
"The press is free, and the political system is open; opposing parties compete fiercely in elections and regularly alternate power peacefully. It sidestepped the wave of military juntas that mired some Latin American countries in dictatorship. Thanks to a long political alliance and deep trade and investment ties with the United States, it serves as the Latin American headquarters for a slew of multinational corporations. It has the best infrastructure in South America. It is still unmistakably a developing country, with its share of corruption, injustice, and dysfunction, but it is well ahead of other poor countries by almost any measure...

"The second country is one of Latin America’s most impoverished nations and its newest dictatorship. Its schools lie half deserted. The health system has been devastated by decades of underinvestment, corruption, and neglect; long-vanquished diseases, such as malaria and measles, have returned. Only a tiny elite can afford enough to eat. An epidemic of violence has made it one of the most murderous countries in the world. [sic]
"It is the source of Latin America’s largest refugee migration in a generation, with millions of citizens fleeing in the last few years alone. Hardly anyone (aside from other autocratic governments) recognizes its sham elections, and the small portion of the media not under direct state control still follows the official line for fear of reprisals. By the end of 2018, its economy will have shrunk by about half in the last five years. It is a major cocaine-trafficking hub, and key power brokers in its political elite have been indicted in the United States on drug charges. Prices double every 25 days. The main airport is largely deserted, used by just a handful of holdout airlines bringing few passengers to and from the outside world."

The two countries? Answer: these two countries are in fact the same country: Venezuela. Forty years is a long time
(Highlight with cursor to see answer).

Outed Obama (re)outed...

Well well. "In response to new sanctions by the Biden administration" [Human Events] Russia has banned ex POTUS Barack Obama (among 500 Americans banned from going to Russia, LINK: AP). This is:
"On the heels of the release of the Durham Report showing Obama’s involvement in election interference and the Russian collusion hoax in 2016, Russia has banned the disgraced president from entering the country."
[@Amuse Twitter].

Had to laugh. The Durham report shows what we knew back in 2016 and was just part of Outgoing Obama's outrageous outrecuidance...him and Hillary were up to their eyeballs in sleaze and corruption and international and intentional murder of US citizens. As usual, Russia's official response to Biden's sanctions - although not "pretty damn sassy" like their response to Obama's lame duck shenanigans, is with more reason. Why? Because the Obama administration, Clinton and the DNC's direct involvement in Russian collusion has brought the world to the failing situation it is now in, they stole the 2020 election; if The Donald had become POTUS 46 do you really think we'd be where we are today?

Update: Always worth a read Mark Steyn told us too, also back in 2016 and reviewed last year: "As I think most persons paying attention now realize, the investigation into foreign interference with the 2016 election was created as a cover for domestic interference with the 2016 election."

Overkill...

Well it was obvious before the first day of the first lockdown that the idea of 'lockdowns' (prison riot term) would kill more than the virus. Now the data is showing it loud and clear: not just the murder rate (image below) but also drug use, suicide, road deaths (yes! weird huh?) suicide, fertility down more than before, pregnancy issue, stllbirth issues...so not just the 'straight-forward' vax deaths and clear heart problems on the increase, but almost everything is worse.

Open obloquy obfuscating ovines...

Disgracefully misleading the sheeple: almost every single line in the following US Gov COVID jab info is wrong - and demonstrably so. Evil abounds: DEMONStrably...

Source: CDC government website
"The fact the CDC continues to recommend these modified mRNA injections for infants as young as six months old, pregnant and breastfeeding women, when there is a preponderance of evidence, which shows they are neither safe nor effective, is profoundly troubling. This report discusses the potential reason why this government agency’s position has been so resolute and delves into what the public really needs to know!..."

Obama's overreaching oar...

Blogpost title referring to Obama (all posts) infamously (IMHO :-) ) sticking his overreaching oar into purely UK matters...now Creepy Joe has done the same (in what many call Obama's third term):

Friday: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says:
"And, you know, we’ve been very clear — like, we won’t comment on the UK government’s — their dem- — their own domestic policies or internal decision-making... [...]
"So, not something that we’re going to comment on.

But anything specifically that’s related to their domestic policies or domestic decisions, we’re just not going to comment on that.
[LINK]

Saturday: cue Sleepy/Creepy Joe/Brandon doing exactly what she said they wouldn't do: commenting on domestic policies (reported today in UK).

You may claim it's international because err...because the mini-budget caused worldwide ructions...really? Of course part of it could be THIS,** [OECD tax database] doing what TPTB don't want you to do; that could explain the IMF's strange intervention and now Creepy Joe. "The Biden administration wants to raise the U.S. corporate tax rate to 28%, so it has proposed a global minimum of 21% – double the rate on the current GILTI tax."

Of course none of it is anything to do with trillions in debt, derivative failures, failing banks, looming crash, years of quantative easing, lockdown lunacy etc...

Oblast...oh, blast!

See image (left). Russian control of Ukraine as of September 2022..."US officials closely watching sham referendums in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine and preparing to act" [LINK]... 'preparing to act'? LOL. Seriously?
The referendum on September 23-27 in the Donbass and southern Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine on their accession to Russian Federation is, prima facie, an exercise of the right of self-determination by the native population who reject the Western-backed regime change in Kiev in 2014 and the ascendancy of extreme nationalist forces with neo-Nazi leanings in the power structure.

[LINK] ) 'MK Bhadrakumar is a former diplomat. He was India’s ambassador to Uzbekistan and Turkey. The views are personal')

Before you condemn, remember the Kosovo precedent. This is the same, 100%. No ifs, no buts. But it's "them": the baddies, right?...and IF the votes go the Russian way (they will) any action is then not helping the poor saintly (ahem) Ukrainians but an attack on sovereign Russia:
“In the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country and to defend Russia and our people, we will certainly make use of all weapon systems available to us. This is not a bluff.” ['bad' Vlad]
I concur. That, the course of the war, the Ukrainian "gains", and the map above, are EXACTLY what I told my military serving number-two son - to the letter - back in end-Feb/beginning-March this year. Exactly, precisely, TO-THE-LETTER. If fat Span Ows, England-loving, loud, overweight, brash, stubborn, impatient, non-Putin-loving but also non Mr Bean Zelensky-loving average 'man-in-the-street' (general gob-shite "know-all") "knew" this back a few days into the Russian invasion, what of our political class?

Hard to compute? Just think of the bidets (wonderful spell check) Bidens and Clintons (and by extension the Obamas) as crime families: they are; Ukraine is a massive money-laundering opportunity (it is); suddenly it all makes sense.

Literally 5 minutes 'surfing' tells you all you need to know...BUT, if you don't want to know, well... LOOK! A squirrel!

You'll never guess the last time I used that squirrel pic [OMG]. Hopefully the links all are still active: 'A Twitter fest! #MemoDay (read in full on Axios: involves FBI, DOJ, Democrat Party probably Hillary Clinton, possible Obama. Bigger than Watergate)'

...well, you didn't think Obama was good, in ANY way, did you? I mean...what? There is so much...and not just outside the USA. So much

Obambulating over oriental Operation Overlord...

Hat-tip to the bad cat for this surf session that ended in an amazing history lesson (further hat-tip to Madeira in the comments).

Delta Airlines (not Omicron Airways [update: but we already have BA.2 right?]) asked a question on Twitter "Name a city that changed your life" and got many 'expected' answers: London, Paris, New York, Moscow, Barcelona, Istanbul and a few less obvious ones...but after a while - as you can guess by the image - the majority of answers became Wuhan, which to be fair has changed [almost] everyone's life so is clearly the winning answer.

One reply even posted this video, presumably from Wuhan Tourist Board : "Wuhan, a city by the side of Yangtze river with high risen buildings, and connected by many majestic bridges. Countless fun and adventures are hidden in this energetic city awaits for you to discover." ...not a joke, posted in Nov 2021. The video is indeed almost entirely images and film of roads, intersections, traffic and bridges! I really don't think they can expect a rush of tourism, do you?

The unexpected history lesson was - and how many people have any idea at all? - that Wuhan was strategically firebombed (a la Dresden) in December 1944; from Peter Harmsen's blog 'China in WW2'...The US Firebombing of Wuhan [Part 1] [Part 2]. Wang Shih-chieh, a Chinese politician and scholar, wrote
"regardless of cost to the city and its civilian population. Wuhan had to be sacrificed."
The raid used M-69 incendiary bombs, an 'extremely deadly cocktail of phosphorous and napalm just developed for the purpose by scientists at Harvard University'; after this "first experience with firebombing as a tactical weapon to be a successful experiment" it was later used extensively against the Japanese mainland cities. [update comment: those quotes are from Peter's blog, not that M69 Wiki page!]

Wuhan was a Japanese hub in WWII, and a launch pad for Operation Ichi-Go, which is important not so much for the eventual outcome of the war but for the turn of events that allowed the Chinese communists to gain against the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China; some have said that 'the impact Ichi-Go had on the political situation in China was as important to the post-war world order as Operation Overlord'.

Update 20:37: not - but almost - forgetting that today is one year on: "January 23rd, is the day, in 2020, when the world changed as China first implemented in Wuhan the novel public health policy that has come to define the COVID-19 pandemic."

Obnouncing oligarchic oppression II...

Hmmm, I am not sure this Time Magazine article reads like they think it reads, certainly not to me ...or maybe it does and they don't care.
"The scenario the shadow campaigners were desperate to stop was not a Trump victory. It was an election so calamitous that no result could be discerned at all..."
I think you'll agree that a Trump victory was VERY MUCH what they were desperate to stop. This article is them bragging about it!

More critique: "In a rather remarkable article today there is an interesting outline of several leftist groups who aligned to influence the 2020 election." [TLR-TCT]

With this sort of bragging no doubt more will soon follow.

Also, out of interest - and I am not sure it will lead to much now - but The Donald "is winning election lawsuits, in case you haven’t heard" [Steven Mosher's blog on LifeSiteNews]: there were forty six lawsuits to deal with (after many were "withdrawn, consolidated with other suits, or dismissed due to legal technicalities such as lack of standing, timing, or jurisdiction") of which twenty five are still ongoing. Of the twenty-one that have been 'completely adjudicated' "Trump has won 14 and lost 7".

They may be little or irrelevant wins, I really don't know but I know you won't read about it in the main stream media.

Update late p.m.: Another good read that I'm only seeing now, from over two weeks back: Clarity in Trump’s Wake. "The United States of America is now a classic oligarchy. The clarity that it has brought to our situation by recognizing this fact is its only virtue." [LINK]. Well worth a read: many parts stand out, especially...
Russians and East Germans under Communists Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker in the 1970s lived under less ruling class pressure than do today’s Americans. And their rulers were smart enough not to insult them, their country, or their race.
And "Private entities wielding public powers in coordination with each other without having to observe any of government’s constitutional constraints is as good a definition of oligarchy as there is."

Overflowing outrageous orders...

Off to a flying start...ominously so. The image left is from a tweet HERE that shows what O'Biden* said only a few months back. The new WH chief of staff, Ron Klain said only 10 days ago that the "new president's planned executive orders would be "a restoration of an appropriate, constitutional role for the President."...seems odd then that in his first week Biden has signed more than DOUBLE those of The Donald, Obama, Bush II and Clinton COMBINED. Think about that for a minute...**

Check the numbers at the Federal Register and or The American Presidency Project [APP EO Link].

Anyhow... the point is that one of those (maybe two actually) sounds innocuous enough [Whitehouse] but could highlight "The End of Women's Sports?" in the USA; the Campaign for Working Families suggests so:
"But the executive order I want to focus on this morning is ironic. All the polling data show that young women voted overwhelmingly for Joe Biden. And his response to those young women was to issue an executive order that may well eliminate women's sports as a place for young women to excel."
Joe Biden’s war on women [Spiked]. "On his first day in office, the president signed away women’s sex-based rights." And it will get serious: "One of the first acts of Joe Biden's presidency was to gut sex anti-discrimination laws and eliminate critical protections for women in the federal government" say The Women's Liberation Front WoLF,
"With this action, Biden is bypassing the legislative process to implement the most controversial provisions of the Equality Act"
And [WoLF Tweet] :
"Gender identity is not a fringe issue, it is an ideological hydra that threatens to undermine everything from language to our most basic human rights
Where's the outrage? Where's the march on Washington, the million women pink hat mob (didn't they occupy government buildings?). Here's a guy that - to be as kind as I can - clearly cannot think straight and has in his first week signed off on - as previously mentioned - more than double the last four presidents combined, with more still coming: almost seems the Swamp had it all ready for years and knew they would win the election...oh.

* OK, I won't be using that as an excuse for blog-post titles LOL.
** in their first weeks, not total! Mind you Sleepy Joe has already reached 15% of DJT's total for 4 years!

"Outsider's" outgoing Oval Office oration...

The image on the left I have posted before; it struck me as ringing so true; it already looks like that first reaction was correct.

And so, the best US president of this century, the best since President Reagan, by far in my opinion. Think what you will about The Donald's brash manner - and that's all that some people do think about, refusing to see beyond a blinkered tantrum that has lasted since the day DJT announced his candidacy [and I hope you recall the raging shrieking insulting protesting shitstorm that followed his win in 2016, the death threats, the threats of violence, the actual violence and the lies, the constant blatant lies that have lasted over four years] - well today Donald Trump leaves office.

The lies continue, the BBC and others at their worst, as expected.

POTUS 45 outgoing speech HERE, transcript HERE (The Whitehouse). Some snippets:

DJT: "Now more than ever, we must unify around our shared values and rise above the partisan rancor, and forge our common destiny.

That will most probably not happen: the Left won't allow it to happen. In the name of fairness they will be grossly and overtly unfair and wrong, with a pseudo-Fascism that some will think only as a 'backlash' but will in fact be the on-going march of the Left's totalitarianism. Think I am wrong? They are already opening saying it.
"With the support and prayers of the American people, we achieved more than anyone thought possible. Nobody thought we could even come close.
This, in spite of the constant and intensifying onslaught from an irrecoverably biased media, 95% negative reports on Trump: "I’ve been studying the news media and elections for more than 35 years. Trust me — there’s never been anything like it..." [NewsBusters]

DJT: "We created choice and transparency in healthcare, stood up to big pharma in so many ways, but especially in our effort to get favored-nations clauses added, which will give us the lowest prescription drug prices anywhere in the world."

"We also unlocked our energy resources and became the world’s number-one producer of oil and natural gas by far...

We reignited America’s job creation and achieved record-low unemployment for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, women — almost everyone...

Incomes soared, wages boomed...

"We rebuilt the American manufacturing base, opened up thousands of new factories, and brought back the beautiful phrase: 'Made in the USA.'"

"We created choice and transparency in healthcare, stood up to big pharma in so many ways, but especially in our effort to get favored-nations clauses added, which will give us the lowest prescription drug prices anywhere in the world."

"As a result of our bold diplomacy and principled realism, we achieved a series of historic peace deals in the Middle East. Nobody believed it could happen. The Abraham Accords opened the doors to a future of peace and harmony, not violence and bloodshed. It is the dawn of a new Middle East, and we are bringing our soldiers home.

I am especially proud to be the first President in decades who has started no new wars."

"As President, my top priority, my constant concern, has always been the best interests of American workers and American families. I did not seek the easiest course; by far, it was actually the most difficult. I did not seek the path that would get the least criticism. I took on the tough battles, the hardest fights, the most difficult choices because that’s what you elected me to do. Your needs were my first and last unyielding focus."
"No nation can long thrive that loses faith in its own values, history, and heroes, for these are the very sources of our unity and our vitality."
"I go from this majestic place with a loyal and joyful heart, an optimistic spirit, and a supreme confidence that for our country and for our children, the best is yet to come."

I think the whole thing is worth a listen - or a read at least; I bet many - none that would ever read my blog LOL - have no clue what Trump has done: all they can see is 'oooh rude', 'eeeey, nasty tweets'.

I sincerely hope Biden doesn't reverse a lot of the triumphs and progress over the last presidency, he has already said he will...

Update 11a.m.: forgot the main line and reason for the blogpost title:
"Four years ago, I came to Washington as the only true outsider ever to win the presidency.
My emphasis, and the reason they never forgave him, not even for one second, of the last 4 and a bit years. If the Democrats, even just a few of them, had thought, even just for a few minutes, about the people they were supposed to represent, imagine how much greater the last 4 years could have been. They were good years for Trump's successes but like I say...a few Democrats, for a few minutes...was that too much to ask?

Obnouncing oligarchic oppression II...

Right on the heels of my previous post some agreement. Frederick Edward on the Conservative Woman blog: Coming our way soon, America’s Big Tech coup

IT’S A coup! Too right it’s a coup – it’s just not the one the media is trying to sell you.

The whole thing stinks. Events in Washington DC last Wednesday are being exploited in the most cynical and mendacious manner imaginable. If you aren’t worried yet, you should be. The proverbial has hit the fan.

Maybe he reads Owsblog ;-)

"In hysterically overreacting to these events, the Democratic Party and their gormless ‘conservative’ fellow-riders set the ground for an all-out assault on the populist insurgency of Trump, and ultimately, on the entirety of the Right. The gloves are off.

Get ready to hear the phrase ‘domestic terrorism’ a lot. This is the latest codeword to demonise the Right. Having been softened up by years of ‘the war on terror’, the term slips effortlessly into the common vernacular. Legitimate opposition will be reframed as criminal activity.

This is the Reichstag Fire of our era. It will be used to suppress all manner of resistance. Preliminary moves in the Left’s coup have already started. Social media platforms have silenced the incumbent President of the United States, shamelessly overturning the democratic order on the basis of a brazen lie. This is government by Big Tech, where the elites of Silicon Valley decide what you may or may not see and hear. Any society that values its freedom should be horrified by this, regardless of political persuasion."

'Don't be evil'...oh, they dropped that years ago.

Update 12th Jan: more required reading: Melanie Phillips [LINK]: "A president for all Americans who think like him":
"Fears for freedom and justice under a Democrat administration are already proving justified"... ..."We can already see that it’s not just Trump who is in the sights of the Democrats and the oligarchs of the left. It is also conservatives in general, the police, the US constitution and the indivisible principles of freedom, justice and equality."

Obnouncing oligarchic oppression...

(See * below)
Last month I pointed to the blog Consent Factory, Inc. In the final sentence of that blogpost, I highlighted "Where’s the Hitler?", another blogpost there. After the Capitol Building protest this is now worth revisiting. It is well worth a good read and the various links to multiple media outlets (some mainstream, and this is only a fraction of what there were, in many languages too) the wild Trump is Hitler accusations were everywhere. The point of the Consent factory post was that with only 5 or 6 weeks left of the Trump administration surely by now we would have seen something even remotely Fascistic, all that media, kept alive because Donald Trump bashing has enabled a whole new crazy world of fake news (and not just news: how much time, staff, money of the various hoaxes?). Can they now all just ignore it or claim they were only joking?

"I mean, come on. Lawsuits? Recounts? Audits? Angry tweets? Golf, for Christsakes? This is not remotely Hitlerian behavior. You people promised us an attempted coup, a Reichstag fire, Nazi militias occupying the halls of Congress, stadiums full of Sieg-heiling rednecks, white-supremacist terrorists terrorizing everyone …" [sic]

Well, Kit Knightly on Off-Guardian has this article: "The Storming of the Capitol: America’s Reichstag Fire?", "The four big lies underpinning this story show it was likely a staged event." Overtly and ominously the usual suspects in the media are 'already spinning a narrative around the events in Washington DC':

"One that bears no resemblance to reality, does not hold up to any kind of scrutiny and will have massive, far-reaching consequences for all of us.

I agree, and not just the media: most of the Democrats (naturally) are providing gold medal standard syncronised lying; Chuck Schumer – as part of an orchestrated and coordinated attack – has called for immediate removal and impeachment; Nancy Pelosi calling The Donald unhinged and unstable has "asked the Joint Chiefs of Staff to make sure POTUS is prevented from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike" (FFS). ALL the mainstream media – including, disgracefully, almost all the major UK news outlets – are using words like coup, siege, insurrection etc. All ludicrous, all orchestrated.

The Reichstag fire essentially created a one-party state and we saw what that led to; that is what we are seeing now, the difference being that in the 1930s it was the German President who passed the Reichstag Fire Decree immediately afterwards, which led to a severe restriction on civil rights; this time it won't be the incumbent President: "The decree nullified many of the key civil liberties of German citizens":

With [...] in powerful positions in the government,
the decree was used as the legal basis for the imprisonment of anyone
considered to be opponents of the [..], and to suppress publications
not considered "friendly" to the [...] cause.

I have blanked out a single word three times to avoid polemic not that the word Nazi would be wrong, just that by removing it you actually see what the sentence says instead of only seeing "Nazi": although the polemic is often used, only in November for instance by the disgraceful Amanpour on CNN. Does the quoted sentence above ring any alarm bells? Does it worry you? We will see the same thing now, directed at 'domestic terrorists' but actually for anyone who doesn’t toe the line i.e., anyone remotely conservative. Think I am exagerrating? The Obama regime had a good go and has never stopped! The sinister, blatantly lying media, all the big tech giants (edit added: already joining in banning "the most powerful man in the world"...normal right-wingers will get the same), all the security acronyms, and the seemingly senile, nut-job Democrat politicians will be in total control.

Where’s the Hitler? It certainly isn’t or wasn’t Donald Trump and it won’t be Biden…but…

It Can't Happen Here [Wiki] is a 1935 dystopian political novel describing the rise of a US dictator similar to how Adolf Hitler gained power. Scroll down to the last sentence of the 'Reception' section: since DJT announced he would run for President there has been a raging, shreiking, insane mob trying to discredit him.  The overt intransigence of the entire Democrat Party for
almost the entire last 5 years, supported as already mentioned by a tsunami of
fake news – in which high ranking UK politicians are involved perhaps hence the
totally out of reality coverage against Trump) - means the future is not bright and it certainly isn't orange either.

Update: edited twice, for typos mainly and to add blog title belatedly.
