Opposition opening...

Yes, I am still alive; yes I wish I was blogging more. And yes there will be an opening for some decent U.K. Parliament 'Opposition' soon. It is simply too boring these days to get wound up about the tsunami of shit we are being asked to swallow or at least wade it. Today we can be pretty sure of one thing, Conservatives will be in opposition.

Anyhoo...I discovered a new website (it may NOT be new, I mean I only just found it): The New Conservative where Alastair MacMillan writes about there being more reasons not to vote for the current shite outfit. In the 'About' page is exactly what I wish 'The Conservative Party' were (who are not conservative, Conservative or even remotely 'right wing'):
  • Government’s first duty to protect the citizenry
  • Unequivocal freedom of speech
  • Border control Fiscal responsibility
  • The state as servant, not master
  • The law applied without fear or favour
  • Low taxes
  • An end to grooming gangs & their cover-ups
  • A robust response to charlatan wokery
  • Economic stability before Green virtue-signalling
Look at that! Hoorah! I could add a few things - e.g. en end to postal votes except for the previous sensible exemptions [military, disabled...] but what a start, actually being what the blue wing of the Uniparty should be.

OMG, OOTW: ONS OBS...

It appears the UK Government's Office for National statistics (ONS) doesn't care what it looks like; I guess they know none of them will ever suffer any consequences: "We've led the development of a new method for estimating the number of excess deaths across UK countries". [ONS Twitter Link].

I BET you have, and I bet we all know why! Lots of number crunching going on [The Rustler on Twitter] but whichever way you look at it it doesn't look good for transparency and the Government hiding the stench of being directly responsible for tens of thousands of deaths of their own citizens...hmmm, OOTW?

When you look at the last few 'pandemic' years [and The Naked Emperor has done that] it is 2023 that gets the whopping lie: almost 66% of deaths disappear under the new method: excess deaths are down from 31,442 to 10,994! Both 2020 and 2021 also change but are only down by about 10%, that said, with much larger numbers dying. And 2022 is in fact 11% higher under the new method.
If you look at the previous five years to 2020 it is even more interesting: before that the numbers were low-ish and irregular, up and down, but from 2015 (see red box in image below) they were consistently much, much higher: 115,102 over the five years (2015-2019). Look at the numbers AFTER using the new method: a total of...wait for it: 838

The much lower deaths of 2019 are now negative: "2019 saw excess deaths drop from 6,006 to -34,408, a drop of over 40,000.

Even before all this I suspected that the mild death total for 2019 made up a large part of the the first COVID wave of death in Spring 2020, the 'dry tinder' effect. But why would they want to make it look like their ludicrous pandemic actions of lockdowns etc., were even less necessary? After all, now, with this new method we have over half the 2020 excess 'explained away' due to ultra low 2019 excess deaths...why would they want that? Like I've said before and above, it would be the lesser of two evils: admitting lockdowns weren't necessary and in fact caused misery and death...'oh dear, we're sorry and lessons will be learnt'.
Sounds bad, BUT that is a lot better than admitting to the HUGE amount of death they really are DIRECTLY responsible for.

Oncoming oppression...

Well, not oncoming but already here and likely to get worse. This quote is so true. Quotes.pub had the image but the reminder of this great quote was from Allison Pearson's [DT] "withering verdict" of BoZo's BoJo's speech to the Conservative [virtual] Party Conference. Hat-tip Lockdown Skeptics

Also from there some more sinister (but we all knew) news: "Many governments are using the pandemic as cover to silence dissent, stifle the free press and disrupt elections, according to a new report by Freedom House, a US-based think tank". Linking to Philip Heijmans' article on the Bloomberg website: Governments Using Pandemic to Stifle Dissent

The Freedom House article is well worth reading, on their website HERE or the report is HERE-PDF

The Media end Expression section strikes me as problematic: "91 of 192 countries (47 percent) experienced restrictions on the news media as part of the response to the coronavirus outbreak", believable;

"Journalists covering the crisis have been arrested and targeted with violence, harassment, and intimidation. Governments have exerted control over content, revoked outlets’ registrations, suspended printing of newspapers, denied press credentials, and limited independent questioning at press conferences. New legislation against spreading “fake news” about the virus has been passed, while websites have been blocked and online articles or social media posts removed. The increased public need for impartial information during a pandemic makes such varied methods of suppression particularly egregious."

However, many major countries e.g. UK and USA are in the 'free' category (as against partly free or not free); they may be 'free' on paper (hoho) but they are part of the problem: they have stoked the fear, they refuse to ask the most obvious questions, THEY are part of the problem and have encouraged the dozy inadequate politicians to continue on their disasterous path.

Update: absolute case in point: just heard on the radio news, headline: this year "COVID has killed [xyz*] times more than flu and pneumonia combined".  Complete bollocks and for various reasons.

* can't remember if they said twice, three or four times more because I was shouting at the radio "NO IT HASN'T"...

Operation Overlook...

Brexiteers beware, keep the lookout, keep the pressure on. An oportune moment to not take one's eye off the ball. Harry Western (a pseudonym: "Harry Western is the pen-name of a senior economist working in the private sector") wrote an article that appeared yesterday on the Briefings for Britain blog (Economy & trade) "Brexiteers be alert again – Whitehall still trying to scupper a real Brexit".

"To a casual observer, the UK looks to be on course to leave the EU fully at the end of this year with either no trade deal or a deal of the ‘bare bones’ sort, either of which would deliver on the government’s avowed aim of delivering a genuinely independent trade policy..."

The most worrying of the developments is the announcement of a new agricultural commission to advise on food standards and trade policy. This was set up in the wake of an aggressive and well-funded campaign, led by the NFU, which featured a mass of misleading claims and scare stories about food imports... ...The names of individuals who will sit on this commission have now been announced and it could hardly be worse. There is an almost total absence of genuine expertise in the field of agricultural trade and economies...

[edited for typos!] There is more: the Department of International Trade (DIT) and Northern Ireland and, just as Harry mentions in the intro to his piece, taken in isolation these things may slip under the radar but taken together show the final battle is yet to be won.

Oncoming obrogation II...

The UK voted to leave the EU 1213 days ago...FORTY months. Now the slimey cunts (especially you Letwin) have voted to delay again; all for the best of the country of course; nothing partisan in the votes though, err...

[Link]

Very similar to the last delay vote (Cooper-Letwin) back in March.

Update: And The Brexit Party will tell you of a"new independent analysis of the deal by Brexit Facts4EU.Org, compiled with legal advice, spells out 10 ways in which Boris’ new EU treaty is not Brexit. Interesting points HERE (PDF) "A layman’s summary of the EU’s new ‘UK colonisation treaty’agreed by the PM yesterday"

Outrecuidance of our ostriches...

More for Traitors' Gate. The Tower is going to be busy. Invest in spikes, pikes, pitchforks and yellow jackets. "MPs have backed measures designed to thwart preparations for a no-deal Brexit, by defeating the government in the House of Commons.

They backed an amendment to the Finance Bill, which would limit spending on no-deal preparations unless authorised by Parliament, by 303 to 296 votes." [BBC]

Are they mad? This is obviously anti Brexit but it is in fact anti UK, cutting off their nose to spite their face, anti most of their constituents! Just who the fuck do these shitty fucking cunting MPs think they are?

Update 22:15, anti-UK Francophile Dominic Grieve et al clearly present "the gravest peacetime threat to the UK in 70 years". Their end will be slow.

Update 2, 9/1/19, feeling less aggrieved today Bernard Jenkin and Jacob Rees-Mogg putting it in real context; the latter saying that the move was 'pointless and tokenistic', while Downing Street labelled it as nothing more than an 'inconvenience' (hat-tip Jonathan Isaby, BrexitCentral). Boles, Clarke, Greening, Grieve, Letwin, Morgan, Soubry, Vaizey, Wollaston et al have certainly blotted their copybook with this blatant sabotage; if only they'd piss off and form SDP II or something.

Odious oleaginous olid oblocutor...

The evil, treacherous vampire squid scum that is Tony Blair just refuses to go away. The zombie appearance combines with a zombie characteristic of just not dying enough. In any other century he would have been executed long ago. He has written to his co New Labour slime-ball cunt Alastair Campbell with a 'secret memo': "My 12-point plan for stopping Brexit". [LINK].

Hang on a minute...this must be a spoof: "Your skill at putting a first-class case for second-rate policies served us well in the old days before Gordon messed it all up"...simply the truth but so strange to think Blair would utter any truth.

In fact he reveals a few home truths: "Much as cosmopolitans like you, me and Peter [Mandelson, the third of the four - with Gordon Brown - new Labour traitors who should be in the deepest darkest dungeon of the land] love the EU, it was always a deal designed to suit the interests of France and Germany rather than Britain....". Obvious but worth restating always. "Another fear campaign won’t work."...'another', revealing, eh?

"Accept that Britain has its problems but don’t admit to the scale of a disaster which can be blamed on us." Ha! At least he realises the shitefest he has brought down on us. "Warn about galloping inflation rather than the cheaper food available outside EU agricultural protectionism.".

"Don’t fraternise with the enemy or run to Juncker, Merkel or Macron. All these pilgrimages (mea culpa) make it look as though we’re helping them and snitching on Britain"...Yes, it does. So much truth, no wonder this was supposed to be 'secret'!

Outrageous obduracy; obvious omission...

Eager as ever to charge the UK for almost anything and everything ("EU leaders to insist UK pays its Brexit bills as precursor to trade talks") they are definitely making a quick, hard Brexit more likely. This will hurt the EU more than the UK; the stupid sinister spiteful EU cunts "diplomats" are almost literally intending to cut off their nose to spite their face.*

The EU are also already making their feelings clear: "you're gone": in THIS [PDF] paper (Reflection Paper on the Social Dimension of Europe) which was published last week has two telling maps on page 7 and page 9. We want to leave, they want us gone. Good.

For info the UK would have been in dark blue with an unemployment rate of 4.7.

* a perfect description of the EU 'diplomats' childish self-destructive huff. Cunts.

Overflowing ordure...

The picture (left) is from the DT, another HERE shows before and after shots. Reading the sign you can see what is, in effect, all you need to know about the flood disaster and damage that is currently happening in the north of England. The problem is NOT climate change! The floods are NOT unprecedented and have happened for centuries! In England and the UK it rains a lot; sometimes lots and lots! Sometimes it is snow and the thaw causes the floods; sometimes just heavy rain.  For hundreds of years up until 1997 rivers known for flooding were regularly dredged (as were the Somerset Levels); for places like York, currently flooded from the river Ouse overflowing, there is data from centuries ago: "Systematic flood level readings from 1877 and a wealth of documentary records dating back as far as 1263 AD give the City of York a long and rich history of flood records."... "The inclusion of the extended historical flood record (1263–2000) provides an additional eleven events pre-1800, of which five are greater than the largest event in the period 1800–2000."**

The Environment Agency is not fit for purpose and it's adherence to the crazy "....EU directive which discourages proper dredging has been identified as an issue." [WUWT]. I am sure it is inefficiency and inadequacy from the EA making the problems worse: I am certain they wouldn't be doing this on purpose...would they?

Omnipotent ocracy obreption...

Congratulations, a deal has been done, the delegates from nigh on 200 countries have agreed: "A deal to attempt to limit the rise in global temperatures to less than 2C has been agreed at the climate change summit in Paris after two weeks of negotiations." [sic] [BBC] Read that again...you didn't misread it. Next, they must stop the sun rising in the East; they obviously think they can. Canute* has been reassessed by history: now we know he wasn't a Nature God trying to turn back the tide but a fine King demonstrating his own limitations. Will today's politicians get the same reassessment? No, their shenanigans will be laughed at but not in time to save our sanity, money souls. Politics, more specifically, the redistribution of wealth is the only reason for this utter shite fest.

COP21 in Paris attracted thousands, 25,000 official delegates so clearly Paris is nicer than Lima where only 15,000 met last year; you forgot, these Conference of Parties (COP) jollies are pretty much annual bashes now. Of course that 25K official attendee number can be tripled/quadrupled or more, at least: guards, aides, secretaries, chauffeurs, cooks, hangers on etc. And then think of the protesters/ demonstrators, the happy-clappy brigade. However, don't fret, those thousands of delegates were given welcome bags that were 100% recycled! [face-palm]. The agreement [Full text PDF] seems impressive enough but it's about a handful of countries given hundreds of other countries money.

Food for thought - and recalling the oneirataxic omphaloskepsis - to feed the ever growing population we must produce more food; to do so our plant breeding advancements and animal nutrition efficiency will only get us so far: Mother Nature needs help to grow things and to do so she will need more CO2 in the atmosphere than we currently have...oops.

P.S. * some words you can get from 'Canute': acute, cant, cunt, nut...
