Happy New Year! [edited for typos etc., 1400hrs] The blog title does not refer to the beautiful city of Oxford nor the wonderful university there, although the former and the latter have a lot to answer for. 

No, this is about some Oxford chumps living in the past and pushing cult dogma: 1. Bishop of Oxford last month called for govt crackdown on climate change sceptics (FFS, as if they haven't done enough damage to their own religion without pushing another); 2. Oxford Academics' BioScience saying the public has failed climate hysteric alarmism and that now "time is up". [Jeez...]. 

Meanwhile Patrick Moore, "chairman and chief scientist of Ecosense Environmental and co-founder of Greenpeace, the climate change messaging isn’t based in fact"... "The whole thing is a total scam".

Not written about Pakistan directly before, except if you include all the problems with a certain community then I have mentioned it indirectly (mostly not good) a few times and for quite a while. 

Today, I only write this after watching rugby union at the weekend...bear with me...The BT Sport commentator remarked about their charity efforts for the Pakistan floods. I must admit I hadn't heard a thing (having been in the Americas for most of the last few months) so I looked it up.

That image is from the Wiki page and what struck me more is that in the first four paragraphs of that page they mention climate change nine (9) times**. After that it isn't repeated until the references at the foot of the page, almost like they were focussing and iterating...trying to convey a message? Here's the first paragraph:

In the sidebar they at least mention other causes: "Poor urban planning, Heavy monsoon rains, climate change". The first two they have got correct. The main text in the 'Impact' section goes on to say these are the worst floods since 2010. Which, in turn, were comparable to the floods of 1988, 1995, and 1997...oh. The monsoon rain that fell in 2010 was the highest since 1994 (another year...they missed 1992) which made it the second highest since 1961 (the 50 years recorded then 1961-2011). 

Hmmmm, see where I'm going with this? Seems the Pakistani Government would try to sort this out... oh they did, back in the 70s after the floods of 1973 and 1976. Difficult though, that Indus thing (big river apparently) starts in a gorge starting in the Himalayas (big snowy mountain range apparently).

FFS. 

These floods happen all the time; in fact you could probably time them, literally. I wouldn't mind betting there's a boy and a girl involved. These climate patterns often lead to 'a cascade of global impacts' [LINK], El Niño–La Niña oscillation, part of  "the intricate relationship between the ocean and the atmosphere" led in 2010 to unusually intense monsoon rains; in fact every flood year mentioned above coincides with La Niña, which "impacts the global climate and disrupts normal weather patterns, which can lead to intense storms in some places and droughts in others". That last sentence was from the Wiki page, they were happy to say that back then (cue Lefty editing) but today it is all about climate CHANGE. No it ISN'T; these are climate events that have happened for hundreds of years! Probably for ever.

Most of the country is still silent on the ongoing craziness all around us. Yes it's still me, on 9-11 in the UK; exactly 31 weeks since my last post on Owsblog. To be honest they have been seven months I could have better used by continuing to post here. And what has changed? Well the vaccine problems (1) and Lockdown extremism (2a) (2b) have been highlighted, just 12% of the excess home deaths that involved Covid-19; conspiracy theories all come true, cunts trying to forget their COVID evil by shouting about the climate. Nothing has changed there either, the sheer ARROGANCE of world leaders (Jeez, none fit for running a small town drama group or a kiosk on a street corner) to think they can stop climate change. We've said this (3) all before (4). But anyhooo... the booster bonanza will save you all now (remember three weeks to flatten the curve?) for a double jab that didn't give immunity, doesn't stop transmission and doesn't stop infection, is killing youth at horrific levels (just check the rise in 'unexplained deaths' if you can find them in the news)...so...?

(4) from 2015 COP21 in Paris attracted thousands, 25,000 official delegates so clearly Paris is nicer than Lima where only 15,000 met last year; you forgot, these Conference of Parties (COP) jollies are pretty much annual bashes now. Of course that 25K official attendee number can be tripled/quadrupled or more, at least: guards, aides, secretaries, chauffeurs, cooks, hangers on etc. And then think of the protesters/ demonstrators, the happy-clappy brigade. However, don't fret, those thousands of delegates were given welcome bags that were 100% recycled! [face-palm]. The agreement [Full text PDF] seems impressive enough but it's about a handful of countries given hundreds of other countries money.

Food for thought - and recalling the oneirataxic omphaloskepsis - to feed the ever growing population we must produce more food; to do so our plant breeding advancements and animal nutrition efficiency will only get us so far: Mother Nature needs help to grow things and to do so she will need more CO2 in the atmosphere than we currently have...oops.

Just as the 4 - 5 months of yellow-jacket protests in France have seen minimal reporting by the BBC, so too the thousands of service veterans who marched on Good Friday - organised by the Justice for Northern Ireland Veterans - demonstrating against the prosecution of Soldier F, an ex-para - who faces murder charges for killings on the Troubles 'Bloody Sunday', 47 years ago, has seen almost NO coverage. When the Crown Prosecution Service announced the prosecution of Soldier F there was and is ongoing exacerbation that the UK government has handed amnesty to the terrorist murderers of the IRA, who were sent 'comfort letters'; live in peace dears, we'll just prosecute our soldiers instead.



Credit to the Daily Mail for their good coverage [DM] and some other print press but nothing (zero, nada, zilch) from the BBC.

A similar tale to last weeks 'Rolling Thunder' when thousands of bikers protested the same thing. "Around 8,000 riders snaked through central London in an organised go-slow protest. Park Lane, one of the busiest roads in the capital, was closed to allow the bikers to form up." [DT].

Admittedly there was some traffic inconvenience: "Traffic was brought to a halt around Parliament Square and on Westminster and Vauxhall Bridges as the protesters, engines revving constantly, slowly made their way through the city" but no gluing themselves to anything, rubbish littering the streets or general stupidity as with the 'green' protests.



Compare this to the wall-to-wall 24-hour coverage of the great unwashed eco-loons protesting that socialist redistribution of wealth climate change action isn't happening, or at least not fast enough. Like the idiots of the COP who meet every year thinking they are Gods (Omnipotent ocracy obreption).

I noticed that it has been nearly 7 years since OOI and OOII but the problems haven't changed much: wind power is a little better off in the percentage of the world’s energy that it provides, i.e. to the nearest whole number, it isn't zero any more. However, even ex environmental 'zealots' (Michael Shellenberger is a Time Magazine 'Hero of the Environment' no less) understand "Why Renewables Can’t Save the Planet" [LINK to the article on Quillette].



"In order to produce significant amounts of electricity from weak energy flows, you just have to spread them over enormous areas. In other words, the trouble with renewables isn’t fundamentally technical—it’s natural." My emphasis; a veritable environmental disaster...



Earlier this year I happened across the image above; what interested me most was the massive imbalance in the European Union's nuclear power plants: France accounts for
45% of all of the EU's operational reactors.
The image isn't 100% up-to-date but things haven't changed much.



The France/Germany nuclear thing had grasped Michael's attention:

"I used to think that dealing with climate change was going to be expensive. But I could no longer believe this after looking at Germany and France.

Germany’s carbon emissions have been flat since 2009, despite an investment of $580 billion by 2025 in a renewables-heavy electrical grid, a 50 percent rise in electricity cost.
