Obduracy of obfuscation...

How fake news spreads: look at the three images of screen clips taken from the BBC yesterday (click on images to link); the left hand image was on their main news page on Saturday afternoon (yesterday), the other two are from the article on the Europe News page that the first story linked to (since updated: Newssniffer).

BBC Europe News 18-02-17

1. First link, main news page: "Dutch Populist calls Moroccans 'scum'"

2. Article: Europe News: "Dutch populist Geert Wilders calls some Moroccans 'scum'". The first line iterates this: "Dutch populist leader Geert Wilders has launched his election campaign by calling some Moroccans "scum"."

3. What Wilders said: "There is a lot of Moroccan scum in Holland who make the streets unsafe".

...needless to say that the number of visitors who read the first headline would be far, far more than read the 2nd; the numbers reading the 2nd would be far, far more than those that actually read the whole article and get to what Wilders actually said. There is an improvement for the BBC Online: a couple of years ago the pertinent quote would have been further down, below the scroll line and under at least one photo and they would have called him 'far-right'.

1 = fake news; 2 = on the verge of fake news; 3 = news.  It's not complicated or difficult to get right. As usual, today it isn't on the main news page and the Europe News headline has been 'down-faked' to "Geert Wilders talks of Moroccan 'scum'" but by now most who would read it have read the fake news.

Otoise oxyphonic objections...

...from the US media who in the main are completely losing it over President Trump's constant ribbing. They are being played and they can't handle it except shout back weak insults. In the article HERE (scroll down) you'll see twenty or more of them whinging about the First Amendment, 'fake' President (oh ha ha...except he is patently NOT a fake president, I guess that's even MORE of their fake news); some mention Fascism, Nazism, Bolshevism...

No, he is declaring YOU the enemy of the people: just like the BBC news and political output in the UK. Freedom of the Press doesn't mean freedom from being called out on fake news. The media lies, omissions, stealth edits,  ignoring of facts, the one-sided bullshit fest. President Trump is calling you out. If you are intentionally misinforming the people - and you are - then you are their enemy.

Not yet a Clear and Present Danger situation but I foresee the Incitement Lawless Action being dusted off anytime soon: "The two legal prongs that that constitute incitement of imminent lawless action is as follows: Advocacy of force or criminal activity does not receive First Amendment protections if (1) the advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action, and (2) is likely to incite or produce such action." [Wiki].

By the way, he said he would too. More than once and guess what: "...good publicity is preferable to bad, but from a bottom-line perspective, bad publicity is sometimes better than no publicity at all. Controversy, in short, sells" D. Trump, "The Art of the Deal".

From the blog post title, much of the media seem: otiose - superfluous; redundant; futile; useless...

oxyphonia - sharpness or shrillness of voice

Oncoming oneirodynia...

AP Photo/Santi Palacios. MADRID (AP) via Breitbart.

"Spain’s Civil Guard said that a surveillance camera registered how more than 500 people approached the fence with tools and clubs that they used to break one of the gates."  [LINK]. Can you see all the 'refugees', most or which are women and children...you can't? Racist! Fascist!

Last year I posted THIS blog-post which included quoting from a speech by Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (he has form; admirable IMHO) regarding the multi-culti experiment in general. I also quoted John at The Slog:

"This ocean of evidence about the dangers of multiculuralism bounces off the pc head in the manner of a featherlite pingpong ball. For three decades, they ignored public opinion about mass immigration, and engaged in a much-resented orgy of both positive discrimination on ethnic grounds, and appeasement of ideologico-religious attitudes utterly at variance with British tolerance and democracy."

[sic].

The post included the two images below, that some could find demeaning and insulting. Trouble is, it is getting closer and closer to the truth.

Oroville overflow...

[edited for typos] The picture to the left was Lake Oroville in California - one of the state's key water sources - towards the end of 2015. The El Niño storms helped alleviate things early last year. years of 'drought' hadn't helped.

This year things are very different, with more storms expected and the 'wet season' only half done, the main and emergency spillways are coping but damaged; evacuations are ongoing.

Thing is, if you look at the pictures on the BBC, the whole hill beneath the spillway seems to be being eroded away. All sources say the dam is safe...but what about the infill and earthwork, the hill? Updates on Zero Hedge of this "Never-Happened-Before Event" have a lot covered and various videos and pictures of the damage.

Apparently "California spent $25 billion on entitlements for illegals last year, and only budgeted $730 million for water infrastructure. I don't think that is what caused Oroville to fail, but it really is something to consider..." [quote from Jim Stone info from FAIR, 2014]

Obama's obvallate OFA 'outrage' operations...

Much as New Labour in the UK had a 'stay-behind' army of civil servants and quangocrats sticking spokes in the government wheels and still working for their UK-destroying agenda, so too in the US the Trump administration [link and quote added 13/02] will be fighting an internal war (and worse) for at least a year.

"Former Democratic senator and 2016 presidential candidate Jim Webb said there is a campaign among D.C. insiders and in the media to 'personally discredit' President Trump and the people around him."

On top of that - as Paul Sperry writes - there is a veritable army of agitators in multiple protest groups [Link NYP] - a "network of leftist nonprofits led by Organizing for Action" run by various ex aides and staffers: "Obama will be overseeing it all from a shadow White House located within two miles of Trump. It features a mansion, which he’s fortifying with construction of a tall brick perimeter..."

This is a good follow on from Sperry's 2015 article about Obama bankrolling of constant protest. His presidency was "pockmarked by rioting, looting and protests. That's no coincidence. It's what the former community organizer sought from Day One." He "has encouraged the nonstop civil unrest exhausting the nation."...He "egged on both BLM and OWS [no relation!] protesters."

"Chronic social irritation can do lasting damage to the fabric of a nation. By falsely accusing people of racism...or sexism...or homophobia...or Islamophobia — or whatever other 'ism' or phobia they come up with next — these agitators are creating angst and hatred in people's hearts that wasn't there previously.

It reminded me of Obama's offspring II... ("…When there is a lack of honor in government, the morals of the whole people are poisoned") with his blatant stirring of racial tension.

Oval Office oikology...

President Trump is housekeeping, he is trying to get the house in order; IMHO, so far he hasn't put a foot wrong. The most furor has come against his perfectly reasonable 'Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements'. On this point especially, it seems many agree with The Donald: "All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped" [Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs]...Agree or disagree? Now this question is way WAY beyond anything President Trump has done but shows that the people of many European countries think along the same lines. Of course the polls have been very wrong lately so this could be rubbish; I somehow feel though that this one is spot on.

President Trump also "makes sense to a grocery store owner"; here is a great article and interview with 'oracle' Nassim Nicholas Taleb. "Well, I'm talking about the United States where I get more credible news from the social media than the mainstream media. [*] But I am very impressed with the Indian media that seems to present both sides of the story." Fancy that, a media organisation just giving the news in a non-partisan way?

"The last crisis hasn’t ended yet because they just delayed it. Obama is an actor... ...he didn’t fix the economic system, he put Novocaine in the system."

The lefties are taking hysteria (modern definition) to whole new levels and we are probably not very far from seeing some of their heads explode as they get more shrill, more incomprehensible, more rabid, more violent (OK, "What's new?" you ask).

Interesting reading: "Trump’s often unorthodox style shouldn’t be confused with his otherwise practical and mostly centrist agenda" [National Review]. I love it, the title is "When Normalcy Is Revolution", it made me think of the foolish lefty oncethmus [**] and how they think they're the 'resistance'; they don't realise that President Trump IS the Resistance, the push back...at last.

Also, "No one should be surprised that postmodern America chose an antihero to be our next president" [The Federalist]. Both the above links from the ever excellent blog Samizdata.

[*] Same in UK, BBC is full of fake news and has gone into overdrive against Trump.
