Oslo observations...

Remember the science is settled? Remember there is consensus? Remember drowning pets and exploding children? Remember being told not to eat meat or the Inconvenient Truth and Al Gore's Nobel prize? Ooops: "“The Earth’s mean temperature rose sharply during the 1990s. This may have caused us to overestimate climate sensitivity"..."These results are truly sensational. If confirmed by other studies, this could have far-reaching impacts on efforts to achieve the political targets for climate." The new research comes on top of other recent reevaluations. What chance this will put a brake on wind turbine madness and energy bill rises? (Hat-tip the Captain).

  1. I think what might also have put some cats among some pigeons last week was Rupert Murdochs tweet on the regneration of forests. Mind you those glaciers melting in Chile were pretty spectacular.

We've just had two marches down here about the wind turbines in Poole Bay. The Greens were seriously outnumbered by another group of shouty people.

  2. Too complicated to do big post but the BBC actually(according to the press)censored David Attenborough's views on his latest series about Africa. I don't know, I didn't see it.

They had allowed it to go out once and amended it by the repeat. It's his series and his opinions so why not leave it and if they feel a line has been crossed they could just put a disclaimer out.

What was interesting was the latest Radio 4 programme "In Our Time" which suggested a cycle the Earth goes through ice ages are more common but we've had times where the ice has melted before.

That series is available as a download and it has no time limit on it.

All I know is that my utility bills are too expensive.
