Obloquy over obvious opposition of our orthodoxy...

...or, what a disgrace the BBC continues to prove themselves to be: Surprise, surprise! Next BBC Religion Editor is yet another Muslim, so "The last three people in charge of religious broadcasting and a commissioning editor appointed by the BBC have been British Asians, three of them Muslims and one from a Muslim family."...bit of a coincidence nothing more; no conspiracy to see here, they were the best qualified for the job, honest!
"It could be seen as a deliberate expression of the scorn which those in the upper echelons of the BBC hold towards Christianity and the British values which come from it, and the promotion and normalisation of Islam."

...writes Dr Campbell Campbell-Jack on The Conservative Woman. Yes, it 'could'.

Dr. Campbell-Jack is a retired Presbyterian minister so has a dog in the fight I would say but to be honest this should piss us all off and is just typical of the anti-British BBC whose bias is becoming legendary; they simply hate all and everything about the U.K. and especially England. Fuck 'em.

I suppose the new guy could be a Christian, right? After all, he did walk The Road to Bethlehem, "from Nazareth to Bethlehem, retracing a journey made by Joseph and Mary in the New Testament story of Jesus' birth". More than most Christians! The diary of that journey makes for genuinely interesting reading and Aleem was mistaken as both a Jewish settler and a Palestinian "and so, perhaps, a potential attacker".

But no, Aleem Maqbool is a very Urdu name and as a previous Pakistan Correspondent (and Gaza/West Bank Correspondent) I'm sure he is in fact...yep,  a Muslim. And reading his BLM love-in (mainly Melina Abdullah quotes) you just know he'll fit in perfectly.

The BBC tell us  Aleem will take up the new position in Spring 2022, presumably just in time for the Census 21 results [ONS UK Gov] so we'll be able to see how the Muslim population in the UK has grown (yes, I know we won't) but it'll highlight the BBC's fuckwittery. Why not rotate the role? Why not appoint a Jew, a Hindu, a Buddhist, a Sikh a 'no stated religion' or even - God forbid - a Christian?!!

Overall oblations...

Intersting stuff from Carrie Osgood at CarrieOnAdventures (great name btw): "Major world religions: based on the proportional world population map" taken "a step further by incorporating data from the World Religion Database to show geographic trends across the continents (2010 figures)."

Detail and discussion by Frank Jacobs at the Big Think.

Oval onomatomania over onomatophobia...

I am getting the irresistible urge to repeat certain words; Crusaders, Crusaders CRUSADERS. This is because of recent perceived fear of certain words...maybe. Super Rugby's Crusaders are by far and away - on present form - the best club in the world*. HOWEVER, "The Canterbury Crusaders are to lose their knight and sword logo following a review into the club's branding after the Christchurch mosque attacks in March". Now, apparently, the head of New Zealand Rugby Steve Tew said: "Even prior to 15 March, the Crusaders had signalled their intention to complete a brand review. While the events of 15 March have accelerated and escalated that brand review, we do not want this to be solely a response to that tragic event." Also,

"Any change must not be seen as a knee-jerk reaction to a single event."...OK; trouble is it sounds exactly like a knee-jerk reaction to a single event.

I don't know about you but when I see the logo I do not think of medieval European knights chopping up Muslims, no really, I don't. When the Canterbury kiwis originally chose the 'Crusaders' name it was based on the English nature of the city of Christchurch: [LINK: What's in a name (archived page)] "They believed the name Crusaders not only connected with Christchurch's British heritage but it defined the crusading spirit of Canterbury rugby." They have a theme song too: the "Conquest of Paradise" (Vangelis). My God, the Maori's won't like that will they? Their paradise was afterall conquested. And Canterbury in England means "stronghold of the Kentish men"! No! They'll have to change the city name too I guess, all that stronghold stuff could make people think of fighting and killing.

Now, juxtapose this rugby story with another rugby story: 'Israel Folau launches legal action over rugby sacking' [LINK] "No Australian of any faith should be fired for practising their religion," Folau said. Does anyone think, even for a nano-second, that if he were a Muslim and said the exact same words, i.e. that God's plan for gay people was “HELL…Unless they repent of their sins and turn to God”, he would be sacked...anyone?

* In England the Exeter Chiefs and Saracens will have to watch out...actually, no, Saracens won't, will they? I mean God forbid some may recall it as a term [Wiki] not just for for Muslim or Arab but with
connotations: on a military mission, or sāriq, pl. sariqīn: "thief, marauder, plunderer"!

Oligophrenic ocracy...

What would Jesus and Mo say?

Updated. Nail on the head about our feeble minded government and weak Western leaders generally. Observations about the 'moderate Muslim' from Daniel Greenfield on his Sultan Knish blog: "The moderate Muslim is an invention of the liberal academic, the secular theologian, the vapid politician and his shrill idiot cousin, the political activist."

"Moderate Islam is just multiculturalism misspelled. Its existence is a firm article of faith for those who believe in multiculturalism."

Well worth a read and whilst there why not read about clearly the worst thing imaginable: The Deadly Israeli House Strikes Again: "There are few weapons as deadly as the Israeli house."

A few more thoughts on much the same theme HERE from 20 months back. Or from this week the suggestions for belated actions from Geert Wilders HERE re Dutch Ostriches.

Update: The other day Dan Hodges posed a question, as a statement really: "Too many of Britain’s Muslims are failing to integrate. We need to find out why"; we all know the answer:  Islam, because they are always Muslim first and tolerant people bend over backwards for them. Those in power have backed off, turned away and far worse attacked those brave enough to speak up or point it out. The Law has ignored their crimes. The solution is to STOP bending over backwards and start pushing back. No tolerance, no leeway, no overlooking.

More links: Diane Abbot deflection; crass apologist.

"Truly this is one of the biggest scandals of our time. And it's going to get bigger" from James Delingpole: "Rotherham - with 1400 girls abused - is just the tip of the iceberg."

Odze on...

[Edited: 'dead' video/image removed]
Possibly the most heartening news this morning is re the visit by a group of British Jews and Israelis to Bradford in obvious and excellent defiance to racist fucktard George Galloway who had recently said that the city should be an "Israel free zone". The group, led by Rabbi Shneur Odze who is also a UKIP candidate, took the trip this weekend "to defend the British sense of fair play and tolerance" [Link: Breitbart]

Even better: HERE is a petition calling for Mr Galloway to be prosecuted for hate speech under the Public Order Act 1986. And Bradford will be happy because "the local tourist office in Bradford has received a surge of requests for brochures from British Jews". In case you wondered Owsblog's opinion is strongly pro Israeli and happy to debate with anyone who isn't fully blinkered and willing to learn the facts.

Ottawa, Ontario...

The following statement was made by the Prime Minister of Canada in response to the situation in Israel [Link: pm.gc.ca]. STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF CANADA [edit] Ottawa, Ontario 13 July 2014.

"The indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza on Israel are terrorist acts, for which there is no justification. It is evident that Hamas is deliberately using human shields to further terror in the region. Failure by the international community to condemn these reprehensible actions would encourage these terrorists to continue their appalling actions. Canada calls on its allies and partners to recognize that these terrorist acts are unacceptable and that solidarity with Israel is the best way of stopping the conflict. Canada is unequivocally behind Israel. We support its right to defend itself, by itself, against these terror attacks, and urge Hamas to immediately cease their indiscriminate attacks on innocent Israeli civilians. Canada reiterates its call for the Palestinian government to disarm Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups operating in Gaza, including the Iranian proxy, Palestinian Islamic Jihad."

Bravo! Where is the UK's similar statement? Where is Obama's? Where were the lefty protests when similar numbers died every day in Syria? As for most of the MSM...

Open objectors...

"As soon as the coin in the coffer rings, the soul from purgatory springs" or so many of the Del-Boy preachers said. Many objected; one of those wrote ninety five statements that quickly became the first media revolution; which led to a ration of invertebrates [or something] permitting anyone to kill said objector without legal consequence. The ensuing schism was massive and continues to this day. "What is Ows on about?" you cry! Reading Cranmer today would give you a massive clue. You certainly don't have to be a Christian - practising or not - to feel serious concern at how "Politicians and lawyers have conspired to nullify our ancient and hard-won liberties: we are no longer free."

Ongoing overcrowding II...

...of a green and pleasant land [Owsblog 2006].  "Every country must have firm control over immigration
and Britain is no exception."
Labour election manifesto 1997. From Ongoing overcrowding..."We know that in their 1st term - from 1997 - immigration tripled; in their 2nd term it quadrupled (from the 1997 figure) [Migration Watch - pdf]. This seemed bad enough and then we found out it was entirely intentional and had a 'subsidiary political purpose' and was not just the result of a booming economy and perceived skills shortage.

Now, we learn of ANOTHER round of secret immigration intentions: "The secret immigration policy they tried to hide". "Behind closed doors, EU negotiations will trigger a new wave of cheap labour into Britain." Who and when will the public be informed? These are new, irreversible commitments.
"

The Coalition have done almost nothing to change any of this and now we see where our politicians lead us: 13 per cent of residents of England and Wales were born outside the UK and just over half arrived in the last 10 years, [ONS Link]. An important stat: now 4.8% of the UK are Muslim, more than all other religions (excepting Christian and 'no religion') put together; not too high you may say but I remind you of Edward Cline's 'Jihad by the Numbers' [FSM] which seems a pretty accurate index when you read through the countries:"At 2% and 3% they [Muslims] begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs."

"From 5% on they [Muslims] exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. They will push for the introduction of halal ("clean" by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves - along with threats for failure to comply (United States)."

"At this point, they [Muslims] will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, or Islamic law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world."

Then it starts to get a bit nasty and it's worth noting David's comment here: that Muslim behaviour is not just dependent on their proportion of the population but on the character of the local population: "For instance, in a strongly anti-Muslim nation such as China, Muslims will have to be much larger then two percent before they start to misbehave or go on Jihad."

"...In a free and tolerant society, trouble starts at a much lower level."

Update: sorry for multiple Owsblog back-links (not trying to boost hits like Guido et al!) but another point to note is the health aspect: a 'small proportion of the non-UK born bear the greatest burden of infectious disease reported in the UK.' In 2010, 73% of TB cases reported in the UK were immigrants - of those with country of birth information available (84% of that total are from only two regions: 57% South Asia [almost entirely India, Pakistan and Bangladesh] and 27% from sub Saharan Africa [mainly Zimbabwe and Nigeria]). The same goes for almost 60% of newly diagnosed cases of HIV, and 80% of hepatitis B infected UK blood donors (this data from the HPA PowerPoint; link at bottom of page HERE).

Outrage outlaws...

[Edited: 'dead' image/video removed]

Well said Rowan! And well said Cranmer (hat-tipped) who writes "Criminal law rightly protects individuals against unjust discrimination, incitement and violence. But it is unacceptable that it has moved into areas of annoyance, disturbance and inconvenience. The law should punish violence or the threat of violence; it should not be used to protect us from having our feelings hurt, especially since people may manifestly choose of their own volition to be offended."

Ahhhh (sighs), who can forget Constable Savage; another was the vicar on gay Christians, "God hates poofs"...those and other favourites HERE. The Conservative party Conference: "Like we understand young criminals, another very emotive issue. This party feels that we've been just a little too soft on these... bastards. ...If [electric shock treatment] doesn't work? Then of course we will be more than prepared to revert to old liberal wishy-washy socialist Nigger-loving Red left-wing homosexual commie ways of the recent past. But please, let's have a chance!"
